Odd fact: while October is the tenth month in our calendar, it was the eighth month in the old Roman calendar. It retained the label of eighth (Octo) even after Julius Caesar reformed the Roman calendar into the Julian Calendar, and even later when Pope Gregory XIII introduced the Gregorian calendar, which we use today.
