Happy November! And while pumpkin spice flavors have been making the rounds for awhile already, the royal dessert itself - the pumpkin pie - will proliferate this month. Love it or hate it, it is hard to imagine the staple November sweet changing in any way. It is truly a classic. So, I'm not sure whether the clear, gelatinous version of the dessert is genius, or an abomination.
Yes, I said clear pie. Aliena restaurant in Chicago has added this glassy, transparent confection to their dining experience. Definitely unusual.
Since I, personally, feel rather meh about both pumpkin pie and Jello, I'm guessing this combo wouldn't win with me. If you want to try it, though, you may have to wait until next year. The restaurant is booked through the next couple of months.
